Black Women Continue To Show Their Hurt/Hatred Towards Interracial Dating…

…With Chad Ochocinco’s show “The Ultimate Catch”.

Chad Ochocinco

I’ve been told time and time again by black women that they don’t care if black men are moving towards white women. And yet, I’m always proven otherwise. There was an UPROAR when Chad Ochocinco only chose TWO black women to participate in his dating reality show “The Ultimate Catch”.

But WHY ladies? What is it about a (successful) BLACK MAN and a WHITE WOMAN together that bother you so much? Do you think he’s abandoning black women JUST BECAUSE he’s successful? Or is it something more? What is it really…?

I was listening to the radio where this was a topic of discussion and one woman said she’s bothered by it because it makes her feel that “black women aren’t worthy”.

Unworthy of what? Most girls on these reality shows act a hot mess anyway and lord knows we don’t need anymore black women acting a fool on TV, am I right? If anything, sh*t, be grateful! Lol!

Nah, but for real though, here are some comments I’ve found around the ‘Net about this whole mess:

Thank you VH1 and OchoCinco for letting black women know where we stand with you. Out of 17 slots, you only had room for 2 black women. Both of which you ranked at the bottom. You are a disgrace and I hope your black mother (the one that is responsible for your success) is not as hurt by your actions are we are. -Via Vh1

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE ARE ALL THE AFRICAN AMERICAN SISTERS….PLEASE..THIS IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!! -Via Vh1

i understand everyone has a preference but my question is why is it when a black man (mainly athletes) become famous they think a black woman is all of a sudden not good enough for them. like black women would make them look bad or something. i wasn’t suprised that ochocino or whatever his name is picked mostly white women but i know one thing for sure me and my friends where i live will not be watching the show. it is a disgrace. -Via Vh1

what is so sad half of those white women would not give the time of day if he was not a celebrity. I wish my black celebrity brother would realize this if the were still living in the hood, eating pork beans or just a reqular black guy making end meat. How many white women are taking care their black man during this recession. Us sisters always have your back but soon as you get some money you want some dumb white b+++h ! <<– Well DAMN! O__o

ANOTHER BLOW TO BLACK WOMEN EVERYWERE. ARE WE NOT GOOD ENOUGH? ARE WE NOT BEAUTIFUL ENOUGH? THIS IS NOT FAIR TO US AT ALL. IT SEEMS LIKE BLACK WOMEN ARE AT THE BOTTOM WHEN IT COMES TO BEAUTY IN THE MEDIA AND THIS SHOW (AND THE T.O SHOW) ARE JUST A REFLECTION OF THAT FACT. THIS IS WHY WE ARE SO UPSET OVER THIS FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT ALL THE FUSS IS ABOUT. THIS IS ONLY HAPPENING IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY NOT ANY OTHER RACE. OUR OWN MEN DO NOT WANT US. THIS IS A TREND THAT IS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE AND THIS IS ALSO WHY WE MUST BUY FAKE HAIR, GET PERMS, AND EVEN BLEACH OUR SKIN TO TRY TO GET CLOSER TO LOOKING “WHITE”. THIS BROKE MY HEART U KNOW . I FEEL LIKE BLACK MEN DONT WANT US. WHITE MEN DONT WANT US. LATINOS, ASIANS, ETC. NO ONE WANTS US.IF OUR OWN MEN DONT FIND US BEAUTIFUL AND CANT LOVE US, WHO ELSE WILL? -Via VH1

I mean… I wish there was something I could say to make black women feel better about themselves when compared to white women…but I’m SPEECHLESS!!!

  1. **.ALL,A,WE,HERE, ON,EARTH,IS,ONE.FAMILY, ALL,A,WEE,IS,ONE….! LADIES,BLACK,/OR WHITE IS A SWEET ,CHERISABLE,GIFT. ….thanks forreadin..!~

  2. Wow. I am a dark-skinned Black female, and I can empathize with what these ladies’ oppositions are to this whole situation, but being a woman who wears her hair NATURAL and doesn’t feel the need to SIMULATE any other race of women, I have to say this:
Don’t blame these guys for their choices! Besides, who wants a professional athlete anyway? They have notorious reputations for being whores.

I would rather go after a successful businessman than an entertainer, which let’s face it, these professional athletes are.

I love myself enough not to take this sort of thing personally. People who feel negativity about this subject need to re-evaluate themselves, because it sounds like their insecure. And as Jamel already brought up: do we really need more black females on reality shows actn’ up? Really? Let these other broads have their desperate fifteen minutes of fame!

  3. It’s crappy that lack women are left off dating shows, but not just Black women, what about Indians, Asians, Jews, Latinas..? Interracial/intercultural dating is happening and showing a “white washed” dating pool on dating shows is not only NOT the REALITY of what people are experiencing in the “REAL” dating word. That said, I agree with you – all of the women look pathetic and stupid on those “reality” dating shows, maybe the sisters are dodging a bullet.

My opinion on it is, it’s not that we really want a pro athlete or to be acting wild on tv but I think
the majority of black women feel that “why am I
good for you in the hood (being supportive of your dreams, trying to build a life together) but once you make it big I’m being kicked to the
curb? Why pick someone who hasn’t been down for you your whole life and was a person that helped you reach that fame?? Also, I have no
problems with peoples personal preference but I feel that this “only dating white girls because black women are savages” is a TREND!!! A few mainstream athletes and artists started it and now it has trickled down into everyday black
men. How’re you gonna say that your preference is white females when you was dating Tasha, Remi, and Shaniqua before?? That’s what I think
is wrong. Anyways, I guess the main thing that must be realized is this; the black man that doesn’t conform to trends and wants you for you, a beautiful black women, is the one you should be concerned about. Let these men go and do what they please.

look ladies, I’ve had girlfriends and wives, non were black ( I’m a black male) I’ve had one lady waiting for years (she said), and I’m just not interested. I don’t know why young black men feel they want an (other than black) lady. but in my case, i grew up in the 60’s and 70’s and the girls then ladies I know where just to…in your face for me. I don’t want a lap dog, but good grief sistas, mellow out some, that attitude of the ladies from gade school through highschool turned me off black women for good. yes my mom and sisters are black women, but that’s different,,,THEY ARE MY MOM AND SISTERS!!! I do not intend to date them! besides we are talking about relationships of the intimate kind, not the family kind, it is different. and I do have a few black ladies as friends, and they know where i stand on this issue and said “enjoy” and I will. Maybe there is a black lady out there that I can be attracted to, but at age 49………I don’t thing so.

  4. Interesting post. To me the problem isn’t that black women feel white women are more beautiful. I think the problem is that society as a whole upholds the white woman as a “prize” which continues to affect beauty ideals worldwide.

The fact that Ochocinco only chose 2 black women is a clear indication that he disregards black women for whatever reason and I do feel it is a testament to how he truly feels about himself, but that is another post.

To the brotha above who said sistas need to “mellow out” that is ridiculous. Every woman is different and to blatantly spew out that stereotype is a sign of ignorance

I am happily married to a black man and I happen to be a black woman who is extremely educated. So yes, it is possible to be successful, black and married or dating someone who is black.

ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT I DO FEEL THE SAME WAY SOMETIMES AND IT JUST FRUSTRATES ME BECUZ THE BLK MAN WANT TO BE LIKE THE WHITE MAN SO MUCH AND THAT SLAVE MENTALITY HAS TRICKLED DOWN TO THIS GENERATION OF BLACKS TODAY. WHITE WOMEN WERE ALWAYS VIEWED AS BEAUTIFUL,PURE ANGELIC AND BLK WOMEN WERE VIEWED AS THE OPPOSITE AND THAT WAS CONSTANTLY SHOVED IN OUR FACES IN AMERICA. BUT WHEN U GO TO ANOTHER COUNTRY RACE AND STANDARDS OF BEAUTY OF DIFFERENT IT SEEMS LIKE THE DARKEST BLK MEN ALWAYS WERE THAT WAY ABOUT WHITE WOMEN BECUZ THEY WERE TAUGHT THAT DARK SKIN IS UGLY, NOT ACCEPTABLE AND THEY CARRIED THAT SELF HATRED TO THEIR HOMES AND RELATIONSHIPS.

I’m a white female and my first love was a black male but after that experience I will probably not date another black man again, even though I still find them attractive. This guy I dated only dated white women, and that should have tipped me off that he had issues.

Ladies, the black men chasing the white women are no catches. They have emotional issues that you don’t see. Who wants to be with someone that dislikes their own race? Nowhere have I witnessed this other than with black men. The problem I think is that those men are wanting docile women, or indeed think that a white woman is more of a ‘prize’. But what that does is create hurt and animosity not only between black men and women but between black women and white women. So many black women whom I have met and worked with that I thought were bright and funny and interesting just could not hide the hate for my kind behind their smiles. Women should support each other no matter what race they are.

  5. @Cecilia: “Women should support each other no matter what race they are.”

    I totally agree! 🙂

I had mostly bad experiences dating black women. And in general USAmerican women are one of the worst I’ve ever met.

P.S. Had a managerial black woman steal large amount from my card and then arranged to rob me more. Others quit once they have sex or quit or never date after their silly games. They don;t know what they want.

Sista’s please understand that these men that are rejecting us are rejecting themselves and the sting that comes along with being black in America. You have to understand the meaning desensitized and how it has impacted our existence in the USA (I would not want to have been born anywhere else). It means to be so used to a behavior until it no longer effects you either way (good or bad).

I have a 13 years old daughter and I hate to see her watch any television at all because of societal misrepresentations of blacks. I watch her very closely to make certain that she understands her beauty and her responsibility to respect her appearance (via exercise, eating proper foods, clearing of the mind from negative thoughts). I bring her attention to the people that go out and purchase backsides, full thighs and fuller lips. I do not let her get or stay depressed. I teach her that it is good to be strong mentally (because of what we are up against in this country), but that strength does not mean aggression and harshness.

The truth is (whether people will admit it or not), white America has been in love with black women and our physical attributes (having a bed wench was a very common and accepted practice by white society for over 450 years). They put non-black women on the cover of every magazine, but will pay for their wives and daughters to get lip and backside injections (to be voluptuous like Black and Hispanic ladies).

Black mothers – when you are raising your sons and daughters do it in kindness and gentle love (this is how they learn to love – and they will associate that love with the giver or ones that share likeness). It is from home that we began to have an appreciation for our people. If we do not show (as black women) love and understanding to our sons; and if they only find a kind word from a teacher (white female in most cases), what do you think will happen as they become men? The associations will broaden to include mate selection. You may have made your son an interracial dater inadvertently by being overly critical and demanding when they were young. Their perception of black women will come from you –sisters (and videos…but you can change the channel on that)!

Our attitudes can be very rough sometimes. Is it because we have never really felt loved or accepted ourselves? No father figure, no husband, brothers in jail, uncles……

Overcoming adversity takes perseverance and “thick skin”. While you are overcoming, please do not forget to be soft and pliable, ready to teach and learn, open and honest, compassionate and sensual (regarding your man) or you will lose him. Be a virtuous woman and black men will beat a path to your door – they really do want us…just not that head shaking, finger waving, fast talking, underachieving image that we and the media have created of us!

I am 37 years old and have been married for 8 years to a wonderful, sexy and fully fulfilled black man. I have had to grow into being the woman that I am (being a ward of the court with no mother or father to care for me) so your childhood pain is not an acceptable excuse for being hard and cold to people. Life is what you make it and if you cannot change your ways (I know we have some too) you will be alone.
A man wants a woman to be soft and sweet, to have sex appeal and creativity and her addressing of his needs whatever they are whomever he is! Believe it! Giving good head helps as well…ladies – you must slob the knob! 
